In 2022, driven by our belief in guaranteeing the health and rights of Nigerian adolescents, and empowering them to assume better control over their lives, Action Health Incorporated (AHI) continued to strive towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 3, 4, 5 and 8.
Specifically, we focused on:
- Empowering Adolescents with Lifesaving Education: Through our social and behavior change communication (SBCC), Girls’ Voices Initiative (GVI), and Teenage Festival of Life (TFL) programmes, we provided accurate and timely information and services about young people’s sexuality, wellbeing, and total development.
- Addressing School-Related Gender-Based Violence: This UNESCO-supported intervention addressing SRGBV reached and engaged over 3 million people on social media with informative and preventative information.
- Supporting Youth Transitioning to Productive Adulthood: With our Youth Skills Development Programme (YSDP), Girls Improving Resilience Through Livelihood and Health (GIRL-H) Project, and training programmes, we created health, education, and socioeconomic capacity development opportunities for young people.
- Responding to Nigeria’s Humanitarian Crisis: In response to hardship and displacement in the North-East, particularly Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY States), we focused on alleviating the burden of disease, reducing gender-based violence and improving livelihoods opportunities within hard-to-reach communities, internally displaced people (IDP) camps, and affected host communities.
Thank you for helping us transform the lives of young people across Nigeria. Your belief in and support for AHI is what makes our work possible.
